Hey My Crocheters!
I talked about the benefits of using Acrylic yarns and now I want to give the best crochet projects to make with acrylic. I mentioned a few in my benefits post but wanted to go a little further into ideas.
Bags: acrylic yarn is great for making bags out of it. The acrylic gives the bag durability and ordor resistance. This is great for an accessory that is not likely to be washed much if at all.
Shorts: I know that crochet shorts are contraversial, but I think acrylic would be good use for this garment type. I know that my thighs rub together when I walk so the extra durability and machine wash ability of acrylic is ideal here.
Hats: since hats need washed more often that some other garments acrylic is a great option for them. The ease to wash most acrylic yarns is perfect for this application. The odor resistance is all very helpful for hats.
Of course since acrylic is hypoallergenic it is great for any garment or wearable for people that have sensitivities or allergies to animal fibers. There are as many textures and types of acrylic yarns as there are natural fiber yarns. It is just a matter of finding the right type and fit. I hope this post is helpful if looking for ideas to crochet with acrylic yarns.
Happy Hooking!
