Best Fall Yarns

Hey My Crocheters!

Can you believe Fall is right around the corner?! This summer has felt both like it just started and like it has been going on forever! I am happy that Fall is so close. It is my favorite season and the yarn fibers that are best for Fall are lovely too. The Fall is such a cozy season that isn’t too cold. Below you will find a list of yarns I think are perfect for Fall.

  1. Wool: wool is always great for the cooler weather. It is a great insulator and provides that stereotypical cozy warmth that we all love about yarn. The are many different types of wool to choose from. My favorite types are virgin wool which is the first ever sheering of a sheep. It is super soft and not scratchy. Then there is merino wool which is also very soft and not scratchy. Both of these are great choices for garments that lay directly on the skin.

  2. Alpaca: alpaca is my number one favorite fiber. It is so soft and supple. I love the feel of it against my skin. It is also a wonderful insulator and is warmer than wool. It also is a natural temperature regulator that can help keep you warm but not overly so.

  3. Mohair: mohair comes from angora goats and it is a warm fiber. Popular yarns that use mohair include kid silk. This yarn is a combination of mohair from baby angora goats and silk. The mohair is nice and fluffy with a halo effect. The halo is part of why this fiber feels so cozy and lightweight.

These yarn fibers are my go to for Fall garments. Since they are soft and warm. What is better on a chilly fall day than a soft and warm sweater, hat, or scarf? I hope this list leads the way to some amazingly cozy yarns for you projects.

Happy Hooking!
