How to Puff Stitch

Hey My Crocheters!

I wanted to talk about the Puff stitch today. It is such a fun stitch to create. It gives a lot of good texture and you can use it to make shapes and spell words in your project without having to change color! I used the Puff stitch in my Galaxy Snood to make planets in my galaxy. Below are the written steps. Also visit my Youtube Channel for the video tutorial.

The Puff Stitch is best worked on the wrong side because the stitch has a tendency to pull backward. So if you are working this stitch on the wrong side it will want to pull toward your front side given the stitch more definition. Of course, the stitch can be worked on the right side.

To make the Puff Stitch do the following:

1.       Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch 1 row below, pull up a loop

2.       Repeat step 1 five times, working into same stitch

3.       Pull through 12 loops

4.       Yarn over and pull through 2 loops

I hope this inspires you to make some great pieces. Happy Hooking!
