How to Spike Cluster Stitch

Hey My Crocheters!

Today I am going to provide written instructions for completing the Spike Cluster Stitch (Spc). It uses a multiple of 8 plus 1 chain. You also work 3 rows of single crochet between 2 Spc rows.

This stitch is fun and creates an interesting texture in your work. I used the Spc in my Galaxy Snood pattern to replicate the stars in the night sky. Let's dive in:

Spc: Spike Cluster Stitch (video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eh76nKWhuvI):

1.       Insert hook 1 row down and 2 stitches to the right, pull up a loop

2.       Insert hook 2 rows down and 1 stitch to the right, pull up a loop

3.       Insert hook 3 row down, pull up a loop

4.       Insert hook 2 rows down and 1 stitch to the left, pull up a loop

5.       Insert hook 1 row down and 2 stitches to the left, pull up a loop

6.       Insert hook into next stitch of working row, pull up a loop

Yarn over, pull through all 7 loops on hook

I hope this post inspires and helps. Happy Hooking!
