Hey My Crocheters!
I talked about some ways to create an Icord. In the process I bought two Lucet Forks to give them a try. Here is what I thought about each.
Prym Lucet Fork: I purchased this from Amazon for about $10.00 and it is made from birch wood. It is larger than the Furls Lucet Fork. The finish on it feels a tiny bit rough around the edges and the center hole. However, the roughness did not catch on the acrylic yarn I used for the test. The Icord that I made with this Lucet Fork was looser and larger than the one I produced with the Furls Lucet Fork. I did have some tension issues, but it was my first time using a Lucet Fork. With practice I am sure the tension issues will be sorted. I actually thought this Fork was a little easier to handle for me. I would recommend purchasing and using this Lucet Fork for a larger Icord.
Furls Lucet Fork: I purchased the Furls Lucet Fork to test it against the cheaper Prym Lucet Fork. This once cost $39.00 and it is made of ebony wood. The finish of the Lucet Fork is very nice and it feels good in the hand. The forks are smaller than the Prym Fork. I actually had a little trouble using it. Which was probably due to my tension issues. At one point I had quite high tension. It produced a really nice and commercial looking Icord. The stitches were also smaller than the Prym and would be great for a tighter Icord. I would also recommend purchasing and using this Lucet Fork.
Overall, both of the Lucet Forks are good. I found them much easier to use than using the hook method of creating an Icord. I would recommend both Lucet Forks to anyone.
I hope you found this post helpful.
Happy Hooking!
