Hello there!
This week I wanted to talk about some color change methods in crochet. There are a few
different ones that I have seen and learned over the years. Let's get started. I will also post a video in conjunction with this post check out my YouTube.
Method 1: This is the mor traditional way of coloring changing in crochet. In this method you change to color B right before completing the last stitch in color A. This will leave the last stitch in color A and a loop comes up in color B. This color changing method is the most noticeable. The change isn’t very crisp.

Method 2: In this method you will add color B the same way as Method 1 but instead of continuing in the stitch you do a row/round of slip stitches in the front loop only (otherwise, it will create a ridge of color A on the back of the work). The row/round of slip stitches will not count as a row/round toward the piece. It will provide a straight line between color A and color B.
Method 2
Method 3: This method is a little different than the previous two. In this method instead of finishing the previous stitch with color B you remove your hook from color A leaving the loop up. Take color B and insert your hook into the front loop and the first leg of the previous stitch below the top V of the stitch. Then you would create the next stitch in color B, and pull the tail of color A to remove the left over loop.
Method 3: Left photo is using single crochet and Right photo is using double crochet
These are just a few that I have seen and used.
I hope you found this helpful. Happy hooking and crafting!
