Hey there!
Today’s stitch tutorial is about a variation on the Linked Half Double Crochet Stitch. The variation includes working into the third loop. This creates a knit like texture. It looks really cool and combines the two techniques to create a dense and full fabric.

Let’s dive in! You can also find the video tutorial on my YouTube Channel.
Things to know about Linked Crochet
You link the stitches by working into the leg of the previous stitch.
Chains are used at the beginning of rows to create the first linked stitches of that row.

Abbreviations:
Ch: Chain
LHdc: Half Double Crochet
St: Stitch
Yo: Yarn Over
Special Stitches/Techniques:
Half Double Crochet into the 3rd Loop:
Yarn over and insert hook into the horizontal loop of the St from the previous row, yarn over and pull up a loop.
Yarn over and pull through three loops on hook.
Linked Half Double Crochet:
Insert your hook into the second chain from the hook, yarn over and pull up a loop (two loops on hook).
Insert your hook into the next chain, yarn over and pull up a loop, and yarn over and pull through all three loops on hook.
Insert your hook into the first leg/loop of the previous stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop,
Insert hook into next stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, and yarn over and pull through three loops on hook. This completes the first (set up) row.
Now chain two, insert hook into the second chain from the hook, yarn over and pull up a loop.
Insert hook into the first stitch of the row, yarn over and pull up a loop, and yarn over and pull through three loops on hook.
Repeat steps 3-4 to complete the stitch row.
Ch any number.
In the second Ch from the hook LHdc.
Row 1: LHdc across, turn.
Row 2: Perform steps 5-6 of LHdc, LHdc into the 3rd loop across, turn.
Row 3: Rep Row 2 until the desired size is met.
Combining these two techniques creates some magic of making the piece look knit. It also gives a wonderful stretch to the fabric. This stitch would be great for sweaters, tees, and accessories.
Happy hooking!
