Hey there!
Today’s stitch tutorial is about creating the Mirror Stitch Pattern. This stitch pattern uses, all of the full basic stitch. By which I mean single, double, and treble (not the half stitches). I would say this is an intermediate stitch pattern because of the stitch placement of the treble stitches. The treble stitches are worked into the 3rd row below the working row. This is totally doable by a a beginner with some experience working with chain spaces and skipped stitches. It’s just necessary to take extra care in placing those stitches.
This stitch pattern is a fun design that looks like hand mirrors or elephants. Otherwise, you can turn your project upside down and they look like middle fingers. I have seen this all over social media.
Let’s dive in! You can also find the video tutorial on my YouTube Channel.
Things to know about the Mirror Stitch Pattern
It has a multiple of 4 plus 2 for the chain.
It is best to work in alternating colors every two rows. So that the stitch design is visible.
The Treble stitch is worked into previous row’s skipped stitches to creat the “handle”.
Turning chains of three count as a double crochet stitch
Turning chains of one do not count as a stitch.
It is a four row repeat after working the initial eight rows.
