Hey there!
Today is Tutorial Thursday here in the Yarn Packin’ Mama Universe. The stitch for today is the Moss/ Linen Stitch. This stitch is very easy to work up and is only a one row repeat. It creates a tight fabric that is great for garments. I have it my to design list for a pajama set. This is a beginner friendly stitch that only uses chains and single crochet stitches and creates a pretty texture.
I will have a video tutorial on my YouTube channel which makes it easier to see what to do in detail. Let’s dive in!
Things to know about this stitch:
It is worked in multiples of 2.
Rows 2 and beyond use a turning chain. This creates a chain space to work into for the end of the next row.
Abbreviations:
Ch: Chain
Ch Sp: Chain Space
Rep: Repeat
Sc: Single Crochet
Sk: Skip
St: Stitch
Instructions:
Ch in multiple of 2
Row 1: Sc into the 4th Ch from the hook, (Ch 1, Sk Ch, Sc) Rep until the end
Row 2: Ch 2, (Sk Sc, Sc into Ch-Sp, Ch 1) Rep until the end making sure to work last Sc into turning Ch from Row 1
Row 3: Rep Row 2 until desired size reached

I hope this inspires you to create something fun! Happy Hooking!
