Hi There!

Last week I talked about the Thermal Half Double Crochet. Well you can also Thermal Double Crochet. Just like the other Thermal stitches it is a double think fabric. There are also less gaps between the stitches. The stitch is worked like a traditional double crochet stitch but the placement follows the placement of the single and half double Thermal Stitches. This stitch would be great for wash cloths, garments, and blankets.

Let’s get into the written instructions for this stitch. You can also visit my YouTube channel for the video tutorial.

Abbreviations:

BLO: Back Loop Only

Ch: Chain

Dc: Double Crochet

Yo: Yarn Over

Chain as many as you would like for the width of your project.

Row 1: In the second chain from the hook Dc into each back bump of the chain to the end, Ch 2.

Row 2: Flip the first row so that it is vertical, Yo, insert hook in BLO and then into the Ch loop below, Yo and pull through the two loops, Yo and pull through two loops, Yo and pull through remaining two loops (same as a traditional Dc). Repeat this until the end, Ch 2, turn.

Row 3: Yo, Insert hook into BLO and then in the unworked front loop from the stitch below, Yo and pull through both loops, Yo and pull through two loops, Yo and pull through remaining two loops, Ch 2, turn.

Repeat Row 3 until you have the desired size.

Final Row: Yo, Insert hook into both loops of the Dc and the unworked loop from the previous stitch, Yo and pull through all loops, Yo and pull through two loops, Yo and pull through remaining two loops, Ch 1 to fasten off.

I hope this was helpful.

Happy hooking!
