How to Crochet The Back Loop Only Single Crochet

Updated: 6 days ago

Hey there!

Today’s stitch tutorial is about Back Loop Only Single Crochet. This stitch technique creates a ribbing effect. Or it can be used to create texture to the front of a piece.

It is a simple technique that means you work the back loop only. The anatomy of a stitch is that you have a (sideways) V made up of two loops. The first loop closest to you is the front loop while the second loop is the back loop. Instead of working under both loops you will insert your hook into the second loop leaving the first one alone.

Let’s dive in! You can also find the video tutorial on my YouTube Channel.
