How to Crochet the Classic Solid Shell Stitch

Hey there!
Today’s stitch tutorial is about the Solid Shell stitch. This stitch uses double crochet stitches, single crochet stitches, and skipped stitches to create a shell look. This is a classic stitch pattern that is well known along side the granny stitch.

Things to know about the Solid Shell Stitch.
It is worked in a multiple of 6 plus 2.
It is a two row repeat.
It uses regular double crochet stitches and single crochet stitches.
Abbreviations:
Ch: Chain
Dc: Double Crochet
Rep: Repeat
Sc: Single Crochet
Sk: Skip
St: Stitch
Yo: Yarn Over
Special Stitches/Techniques:
Shell Stitch: 5 Dc into the same stitch
Yarn over and insert hook into stitch, (yarn over and pull through 2 loops) two times to complete a Dc. Rep this step 4 more times in the same stitch.
Ch in a multiple of 6 plus 2 for the Ch.
Row 1: In the second Ch from the hook [Sc, Sk 2, 5 Dc into same stitch, Sk 2], Sc in last St, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as Dc), 2 Dc in first St, [Sk 2, Sc, Sk 2, 5 Dc into same St], 3 Dc in last St, turn.
Row 3: [Sc, Sk 2, 5 Dc into same St, Sk 2], Sc in last St, turn.
Rep Rows 2-3 until desired size met.
